In an effort to provide consistent and comprehensive medical and dental to the children in the orphans, we have been conducting mobile medical and dental clinics on-site for the past five years. The mobile clinic currently goes out three days a week and endeavors to visit each orphanage on a quarterly basis. Arrangements are made for cases that require hospitalization or more immediate follow-up. In addition, orphanage medical kits are re-stocked.
While we do have a permanent staff (both national and foreign) that is responsible for these clinics, we often have the opportunity to host foreign medical workers who participate in these outreaches. These volunteers have included physicians, dentists, psychologists, nurses, and physical therapists.
As this program has expanded, we have witnessed a marked improvement in the over-all health and well-being of the children. Click here to go back |
